Deion Sanders‘ daughter Deiondra Sanders is speaking out about what really caused distance between her and her Ex, R&B singer Jacquees. In a candid interview on LecraeOfficial, she opened up about feeling unsupported during one of the most difficult seasons of her life.
Deiondra Sanders Felt Alone in Her Postpartum Journey
Deiondra gave birth to her son Snow via C-section in August 2024. The recovery was tough, but what made it harder was feeling like she was going through it alone.
She said Jacquees was “on the road doing this and that,” and that they had relocated somewhere where she had no support system. In her own words, “I was just going through it. It was just me and Snow.”
She also pointed to his absence during the moments that mattered most. “He didn’t really understand, or I don’t think he saw me for what I really needed him for at that time,” she said.
That disconnect had a real impact on her mental and emotional state. “Not having that, I feel like it kind of affected the way that I felt as well,” Deiondra added.
A Battle With Her Own Identity
Beyond the physical recovery, Deiondra described a deeper internal struggle that came with new motherhood and a failing relationship.
“That kind of battle with me too because it’s like I’ve lost myself. I don’t know who I am. I’m grieving the old me,” she said.
She talked about desperately wanting to feel chosen. “I wanted somebody to just pick me and choose me so I could feel like myself again.”
Instead, she said the opposite happened. “He just chose everything else other than me,” Deiondra said.
Tensions between the two had already been building publicly. Speculation about a breakup picked up steam after Deiondra and Jacquees unfollowed each other on social media, and the situation became even more public when Jacquees began collaborating with DeJ Loaf on their album, with Deiondra revealing she was deliberately excluded from the video shoot.
She later busied herself with an advocacy campaign for postpartum depression and has been vocal about her recovery since the split.
Now, Deiondra is focused on rebuilding. The interview on The Deep End marks one of her most transparent conversations yet, and it’s clear she’s no longer holding back about what went wrong.
