Deiondra Sanders is opening up about her relationship with R&B singer Jacquees, and she’s not holding back. The eldest daughter of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders recently appeared on Lecrae’s podcast to talk about what she went through, then took to X to share more of her truth with the public.
Deiondra Sanders Says She Ignored Every Warning
By her own account, the signs were there from the start. Her family tried to warn her. Even Jacquees’ ex-girlfriend tried to warn her, going as far as writing a song about it. None of it was enough to change her mind at the time.
“I was so in love that I ignored every warning,” she wrote. “My family tried to tell me. Even his ex tried to tell me. Matter of fact, she made a whole song about it, and I still convinced myself that what we had was real.”
Looking back, Deiondra says what she thought was a real connection turned out to be something else entirely. “I fell in love and was sold a dream, later to find out I was just a rebound.”
She also addressed the abuse directly. “I could never be with a man who abuse me,” she wrote, adding that her idea of a healthy relationship looks nothing like what she experienced.
“Fun to me is never beating each other up, arguing every day. Fun to me is traveling, being faithful, building a family and enjoying life together. People really be toxic and think that’s ok.”
The comments section filled fast. Many fans pointed out that as Deion Sanders’ daughter, she could have had her pick of athletes or high-profile men. Deiondra pushed back on that framing. “People always say I could’ve had anybody, an athlete etc and that’s true but I don’t date people based off their money.”
She ended with a message about her son, who she shares with Jacquees. “I can’t wait till my son grow up to know and see the truth for himself.”
For now, Deiondra says she needs space to process everything. “I just feel hurt, disappointed, and honestly, I need some time.” At 34, Deiondra Sanders is choosing herself.
