His recruitment came down to two programs late in the process, Colorado and Kentucky, after multiple schools showed interest earlier in the cycle. Adams took visits to both programs before making his final decision.
“Since last summer, Colorado has been a contender for me,” Adams said. “I just hadn’t been out there yet. They were one of my first offers, and they stayed consistent with me the whole time.”
He also noted how things changed late in the process.
“Things really picked up with them late in the season and carried into the new year. They made me feel like a top guy.”
The visit to Boulder became a turning point. Andre Adams said the experience helped him understand his fit in the program and the role Colorado planned for him.
“The vibe was different. It was a feeling I hadn’t had anywhere else.”
Coach Deion Sanders also played a key role in his decision. Adams described the interaction directly.
“He’s one of the most genuine coaches I’ve met. He keeps it real not just telling you what you want to hear.” Andre Adams added, “When he talks you listen He connected with me I like how he does things he is as real as he gets”
Decision Process and High School Production
Adams made his final decision after stepping back to evaluate everything following his last visits. He took time with his family before committing to Colorado.
“It was a big decision so I took about a week to myself,” Andre Adams said. “I talked with my family thought about everything and really took it all in.”
He continued, “I looked at all my options and it just came down to Colorado,” and added, “It’s just the right place for me.”
On the field, Andre Adams has produced strong numbers throughout his high school career at Antioch High School. During his junior season, he passed for 3,418 yards with 35 touchdowns and just one interception while completing 71 percent of his passes. He also rushed for 855 yards and 13 touchdowns, showing his dual-threat ability.
Across his career, Adams has totaled more than 7,500 passing yards and over 70 passing touchdowns before his senior season. His performance earned him an invitation to the Under Armour All-American Game, placing him among the top quarterbacks in his class nationally.
