A casual day out in Miami cost the Sanders brothers more than they planned. Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders linked up in Miami with a group of friends last week, and the trip ended with both of them digging into their pockets.
Shedeur Sanders and Shilo React to $430 Towing Fee
Shedeur Sanders and Shilo spent the day together with their friends at the gym, got in a workout, and even went for a swim. When they were done, their vehicles were gone.
They had to pay $430 each to retrieve their cars from the local towing facility. The incident was captured on a May 31 video shared by Jackson State wide receiver David Studstill on his YouTube channel.
When Shedeur Sanders found out the fee, he reacted with playful disbelief: “Oh Noooooo….”
Shilo had a similar reaction on his own YouTube channel. “I didn’t want to pay $430, you know what I mean? Now, I got to pay $430,” he said.
Shilo also noted that staff at the towing company told them, “If you get it in less than 10 minutes, then it’s free.” That window had long passed.
During the search for their towed vehicles, Shilo and Shedeur Sanders ran into an older woman who recognized them and paid them a compliment. They stopped, talked, and took pictures.
Shilo found humor in the moment, joking that he would have crossed paths with her eventually without the $430 fee. “I would have run into her one day for free,” he said.
For Shilo, the $430 stung a little harder given his recent financial situation. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers waived him after he was ejected from a preseason game for throwing a punch at a Buffalo Bills player. The NFL then fined him $4,669.
Shilo addressed the fine publicly on YouTube. “So they took my little money,” he said.
“They actually did fine me, and that is kind of absurd, but it is what it is. The thing about it is, like, how do you fine somebody that much when the game isn’t even that much? I think you get, like, $2,000 per game for preseason games. How you gonna charge me $4,000?”
Shilo appealed the decision but the NFL denied it.
Now, Miami just hit Shilo and Shedeur Sanders with $430 each. Just like that, $860 was gone.
