Judge Bans Warren Sapp From Hollywood City Hall, Florida

Warren Sapp is facing a misdemeanor charge in Florida after authorities accused him of interfering with city employees at Hollywood City Hall. Court records show the former NFL star has also been ordered to stay away from City Hall staff and witnesses connected to the case.

The case stems from multiple incidents involving Warren Sapp at the Hollywood Police Department and City Hall in Hollywood, Florida.

Warren Sapp Facing Misdemeanor Charge

According to reports from local authorities, police charged Warren Sapp with one count of interference with city employees in the performance of official duties. Officials also ordered him to stay at least 500 feet away from City Hall employees and avoid contact with witnesses connected to the investigation.

As part of the pretrial conditions, Sapp must also check in with the pretrial services office twice each week.

Authorities said the situation began after Sapp allegedly made repeated requests at the Hollywood Police Department headquarters. An incident report stated that his actions prevented a female city employee from carrying out her duties.

Police also alleged that Sapp refused to stop recording video inside an official police area after being warned multiple times by a lieutenant that recording was not allowed in that section of the building.

Several weeks later, another court filing detailed a second visit involving Sapp at the Hollywood Police Department. During that encounter, a city employee reportedly described him as “rude, aggressive and intimidating.”

The allegations led to additional restrictions tied to the ongoing case.

Despite the accusations, Sapp publicly defended his actions in videos and interviews shared online and with local media outlets.

In a video posted on Instagram, Sapp said he was “just trying to do right” and claimed he wanted “to see what was happening in my city hall where we pay a lot of money and they gave themselves a raise.”

Sapp also alleged that police officers assaulted him during one of the encounters at the station. He later said he filed a complaint with internal affairs regarding the incident.

Sapp Responds To The Case

During an interview with WSVN News, Warren Sapp said his actions were tied to concerns about government accountability and constitutional rights.

“Me and my boys, when I was 16, 17, standing on that corner, they would roll up on us and yell, ‘Get on the ground,’ and we all had to drop on the ground and then digging in our pockets as fast as we could, pull out ID,” Sapp said. “That’s a Fourth Amendment violation. We have the right to peacefully assemble on that corner, right there on that sidewalk.”

Sapp also addressed reports that the matter had been transferred to a mental health division. When asked whether he believed he was mentally unwell, he laughed off the suggestion.

“I feel well every morning I wake up,” Sapp said. “I don’t have no issues when I wake in the morning and get going.”

The former NFL star also made it clear that he does not plan to change his approach moving forward.

“I’ve never been a nice guy. You think I give a damn about what you think of me? I know who and what I am,” Sapp said.

He added that the legal matter remains ongoing ahead of his scheduled June 10 court appearance.

“It ain’t done. It ain’t done. I’ve got a June 10 court date, bro. It ain’t even done,” Sapp said. “Not even a little bit.”

The case remains ongoing as Warren Sapp prepares for his June 10 court date in Florida. Meanwhile, the restrictions ordered by the court will stay in place as authorities continue handling the misdemeanor case tied to the incidents at Hollywood City Hall.
