“Even if Watson wins the job, and I don’t know how it’s gonna go. But I think Shedeur will get enough games,” Grossi said.

Grossi pointed out that “Seven starts last year and a minimum of seven this year they’ll be able to make an evaluation.”

“Are the Browns and Jimmy Haslam still very interested in Arch Manning?” Grossi was asked. “Absolutely, yep,” he responded. “I mean, he’s going to have a good year, Arch.”
That interest creates real pressure for Sanders. If the Browns believe Manning could be a better long-term option, they may look to the draft again unless Sanders changes that narrative on the field.

To lock down the job, Shedeur Sanders needs more than solid performances. He needs a leap that forces the Browns to rethink their strategy.
Grossi made that expectation clear, saying Sanders will have to make “a Drake Maye look of transformation to make them not look at a quarterback next year,” referencing Drake Maye.
That means consistency, decision-making, and the ability to win games under pressure. It also means showing growth across the season, not just flashes.

The path forward is simple but demanding. If Shedeur Sanders delivers strong performances and shows clear development, he can shift the Browns’ focus away from future draft options like Arch Manning.
