Leanna Lenee, Unlike Travis Hunter whose upbringing has been widely documented, has kept much of her background private, especially when it comes to her family. But recently, she gave fans a rare glimpse into her roots on TikTok, revealing surprising details about her parents and their shared heritage.
According to a TikTok video posted by Leanna Lenee, she explained that her parents split when she was very young.
“The only picture I have of them together cuz they divorced when I was like one,” she said while showing a photo of her parents holding her as a baby.
She then pointed to her mother, who is Black, Mexican, noting their resemblance: “This is my mom. I think we favor each other, have our hair straight,” she shared, highlighting their similar features.
Next, she introduced fans to her biological father, who is of Filipino descent, and someone she clearly takes after.
“This is my biological father… he looks real Hispanic to me. Obviously, this is the person I favored. Like skin complexion, hair type, hair color, eye color, eye shape.”
The 2024 Heisman trophy winner’s wife also showed a photo of her maternal grandmother, who is also Black, further illustrating the diverse cultural mix in her family.
What many didn’t know is that Leanna Lenee was born in November 2001, just an hour outside London, England, making her a Sagittarius. She confirmed she is a blend of Black, Mexican, and Filipino, spending her first years overseas before coming to the United States at age 10. She described her move to Savannah, Georgia as “a culture shock,” though traces of her UK accent remain.
Later, she attended Kennesaw State University in Georgia, proudly graduating in 2022, years before she would become the wife of one of football’s biggest rising stars.
How Leanna Lenee met Travis Hunter at 19
The love story between Travis Hunter and Leanna Lenee began long before he became a household name in college football. Lenee revealed that she met Travis while he was still attending Collins Hill High School in Georgia, she was 19, a little older than him, when he first reached out.
It all started on Instagram. Travis shot his shot, but at first, she wasn’t ready for anything serious. She told him that she only wanted to be friends. Still, they continued texting for two months, slowly building a bond neither expected.
