Shedeur Sanders is back in Texas, getting locked in ahead of training camp in Cleveland, where he’s expected to fight for a roster spot. In recent footage, he’s seen putting in serious work inside his dad Deion Sanders’ Texas mansion.
Alongside Shedeur Sanders is rookie wide receiver Gage Larvadain, who signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent. Both are being trained by none other than Jaquan Sheals, Shedeur’s personal fitness trainer, who’s been with him since childhood.
Sheals has played a major role in Shedeur’s physical development, helping him stay sharp through high school, college, and now into the pros.
The workouts are intense, focused, and clearly designed for next-level performance. For Shedeur, this isn’t just another offseason, but an opportunity to prove he belongs in the NFL. And with Sheals in his corner, he’s staying ready for every rep, every drill, and every opportunity that comes next.
Jaquan Sheals: From Athlete to Trainer
Jaquan Sheals isn’t just Shedeur Sanders’ trainer; he’s practically family. A longtime friend of Deion Sanders Jr., Sheals has been training Shedeur since he was a kid. Their bond goes way back, with old photos online showing them working out and growing together.
On Instagram, Sheals lists himself as the founder of Impeccable Fitness Co., a brand that now defines his professional identity.
But before becoming a trainer, Sheals had a game of his own. He played football at Cheshire Academy and later at Wilkes University. At Cheshire, he posted an impressive stat line: 154 rushing yards, a touchdown, and the team’s longest rush at 38 yards.
Though his playing career didn’t extend to the pros, his football IQ and conditioning knowledge clearly left a mark. Today, Sheals channels all that experience into training athletes like Shedeur, helping them stay fast, strong, and game-ready at the highest level.
Deion Sanders’ Powerful Advice to Sheals
Before Jaquan Sheals left for Cheshire Academy in 2016, Deion Sanders shared a heartfelt message that showed just how much he believed in the young athlete.
On August 11, Deion posted a photo with Sheals and his mother, delivering a message that blended motivation and real talk: “Don’t allow a woman, a man, a friend, a family member, an injury, a task, a disappointment, a dilemma, or the enemy to cause you to lose your focus and forfeit your dreams.”
He continued, “YOU WILL MAKE IT! I BELIEVE IN YOU now you must BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. Don’t smoke, drink, or get anybody pregnant!” It was classic Prime with a direct, emotional, and laser-focused message on discipline. And that moment clearly stuck.
Nearly a decade later, Sheals is living with purpose, running his own fitness company and shaping the next generation, including Shedeur. The belief Deion had in him then still fuels the work he’s doing now.
