So, the Jaguars caught many by surprise when they traded their draft pick at the second position to select Travis Hunter. Following the pick, social media lit up. Travis Hunter’s mom, Ferrante Edmonds, couldn’t hold back her joy.
Travis Hunter’s Mom Beams with Pride
Using a rather poetic approach, Ferrante stunned many with her message after the Jaguars had selected her son. Hunter’s mom’s message sounded like she had some things to get off her chest. Taking to her Instagram, she wrote,
“They see the draft. They see the lights. They see the Jaguars jersey. But they didn’t see the grind, the gut-wrenching prayers, or the God-ordained process. I raised a king – not just an athlete. A young man of character, confidence, and calling. This moment? It’s bigger than football. This is legacy. This is glory. This is God. I’m not just celebrating a pick – I’m honoring a promise.”
In her gratitude message, Hunter’s mom pointed out the efforts before the win. While many were busy celebrating the draft, the poetic mum expounded on her glance in the past. She acknowledged the struggles they all had been through so that her son could make it that far.
Her role as a mom involved shaping her son to be a man of character. She had instilled hard work, character, confidence, and calling. All these paid off at the draft.
Hunter’s mom also recognized the prayers they made. She was grateful to God for blessing her son with this unique chance.
To her, Hunter’s pick didn’t come by chance. It was a result of prayers and effort.
Hunter’s Mom Went Live on Instagram after The Draft
You can all see how deep the message was. But that wasn’t enough to celebrate Hunter’s win. At least according to Hunter’s nom. She felt the urge to go live on Instagram and sweeten her gratitude.
A few moments into the live video, Hunter’s mom welcomed her friend to share the video. Without hesitating, the mom’s friend said, “Congratulations to your baby. He did it. He’s the GOAT. Congratulations to the mamma, too. Salute to y’all. I’m so proud of him.” Hunter’s mom replied happily, “I’m so happy, excited. You know. God gets all the glory!”
While encouraging her fans and thanking them, Hunter’s mom went ahead and said,
“I want to say thank y’all. It’s definitely gonna be a blessing. We’re going to Florida. It was so lit last night. It was all a blessing. You get what you pray for. Stay the course, it’ll give you exactly what you’re looking for. I’m happy that what happened happened. And how it happened was way better!”
She kept acknowledging her son’s unique talent and power beyond the field. In the live, she was even heard saying that her son is so prophetic. Revealing how the draft had been a dream Hunter had always craved to achieve.
Her reactions were outstandingly pleasing. One thing was clear. She is the number one supporter of Travis Hunter. And she sees things beyond the field, recognizing hard work and prayer.
