Julian Lewis is projected to be the next in line to fill Shedeur Sanders’ shoes as quarterback at Colorado, and with that comes a massive spotlight.
At just 17, the freshman has already turned heads, not just with his arm, but also his style. He’s been seen wearing a diamond-encrusted chain and even pulled up to an event in his Lamborghini Urus.
Still, beyond the flash and fame, Lewis remains grounded. He’s focused on more than football, sharing his academic aspirations as a student at CU, determined to make the most of both the classroom and the field.
Julian Lewis Plans to Graduate From Colorado
Julian Lewis recently graduated early from Carrollton High School in Georgia after a historic three-year career. Reclassifying from the Class of 2026 to 2025, he fast-tracked his journey to the University of Colorado, where he’s already enrolled in summer classes.
“I’ve got summer classes at the University of Colorado. Sko Buffs. That’s what I need. To be 3 and done,” said Lewis, making it clear that he intends to graduate college in just three years.
On the field, Lewis was electric in High School. In just three seasons, he threw for 11,010 yards, which ranks seventh all time in Georgia, and 144 touchdowns, fifth all time, leading Carrollton to a 39 and 4 record and two state championship appearances.
Besides, he is the only player from Carrollton High to ever win Gatorade Georgia Football Player of the Year, and he won it twice, joining Trevor Lawrence in that elite category.
As a freshman, he set the state finals record with 531 passing yards, earning MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year honors. Now at Colorado, Lewis is already focused on leaving a legacy behind on and off the field.
Julian Lewis’ Academic Interests
Lewis is currently enrolled in Exploratory Studies as a freshman at the University of Colorado, yet he’s already made it clear that he wants to graduate in just three years.
That level of ambition stands out, especially in a program like Exploratory Studies, which is built to help students shape their academic and career paths through guided advising and major exploration. As he put it:
“I’m just blessed that God gave me the opportunity to have them classes in my school… then I want to graduate earlier.”
With the program in Exploratory Studies offering structured support, Julian is setting himself up for a fast and focused academic journey.
His Graduation Ceremony at Carrollton High School

At the graduation ceremony, he stood out in his cap and gown with a sparkling diamond chain around his neck, a symbol of the hard work and dedication that brought him to this point.
In a video he posted on his YouTube channel, Lewis said, “You know, that boy officially a graduate. I say, the perfect year of June. It’s all going to work out.” He reflected on the challenges he overcame, adding, “We ended up making it through the haters, thick and thin, through the losses. You just got to do what you got to do.”
Lewis proudly showed off his graduation gifts, noting that the national quarterback of the year award was his favorite. His graduation wasn’t just a ceremony, it was a celebration of perseverance, success, and the beginning of a new chapter.
