Colorado QB Julian Lewis Was An Anomaly At Michael Vick’s Football Camp As a 4th Grader

Julian Lewis has been an outstanding athlete, thanks to his ever-burning fire to practice. Lewis has wowed fans by training even on his off days.

Recently, he was seen in the CU facility with his personal QB coach Sean McEvoy from Quarterback Takeover, a nationally recognized training program that’s worked with top-tier quarterbacks like Bryce Young and Anthony Richardson.

A former college quarterback himself, Sean is known for his technical precision and ability to develop elite-level mechanics in young passers, with about 25 years of experience.

During his session with JuJu, McEvoy was focused on helping the CU QB refine his release technique, making sure it was sharp, precise, and consistent. He emphasized timing, footwork, and arm angle, adjusting small details to sharpen Julian’s delivery under pressure.

Right after the workout, McEvoy revealed how he first met Julian when he was just a fourth grader attending Michael Vick’s football camp in Atlanta. “I saw Julian when he was in like, I think, third or fourth grade, in the Michael Vick camp,Sean recalled, smiling at the memory.

What stood out that day wasn’t just Julian’s presence. It was his performance. Even among older kids, his poise and raw ability were impossible to ignore.

“Halfway through, we pulled the fourth grade Julian Lewis up into the high school camp, and I think he was like, the top-three performer with high school guys.”

It wasn’t just hype. Sean noted how Julian displayed mechanics, strength, and foundational skills that were far beyond his age, which is an anomaly among middle schoolers.

That early confidence, refined technique, and natural power set the tone for everything that followed. And the respect between them runs deep.

Julian Lewis Played For Michael Vick

In his old Instagram posts, Julian can be seen with the NFL legend Mike Vick at his V7 ATL middle school camp. He was even named the MVP of the camp after he beat out four rising 8th graders in the finals as a fourth grader himself.

In one of his posts, he could be seen kneeling in a huddle in front of Vick, who was addressing the young kids, giving them instructions and necessary motivation that every player needs. His caption read: “When a legend is speaking, you listen,” tagging Vick in the end.

That bond between coach and quarterback continues to shape Julian’s journey as one of football’s most promising young stars. From a standout fourth grader to a nationally watched recruit, his growth reflects not just talent, but trust in those guiding him. With mentors like Sean McEvoy and support from legends like Vick, Julian’s foundation is undeniable.

Even during his years growing up as a budding quarterback, he has had the opportunity to meet some of the most popular QBs in the NFL, like Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence. With that kind of exposure and mentorship at his disposal, Julian grew up to be a star QB himself.
