Jordan Seaton’s move from Colorado to LSU under Lane Kiffin has sparked fresh discussion after his recent remarks about training and culture at his new program. The former Colorado offensive tackle officially transferred in January after two seasons with Deion Sanders and is now set to continue his career in Baton Rouge.
Jordan Seaton Opens Up on LSU Move
Jordan Seaton is now at the center of the latest college football conversation after speaking publicly about why he chose to leave Colorado for LSU.
“When I left Colorado, um, I feel like I was at a good point,” Jordan Seaton said.
He then explained that the adjustment at LSU has stood out immediately.
“But I feel like coming here the transition from how I eat to how we work out here it’s just kind of different,” he added.
Seaton said his decision came down to what he believes the LSU program represents.
“My decision to come here was just based off of is it, it just means more,” said Seaton. “I really believe that being here is just, is really just different from how we train to how we work.”
The former Colorado standout also described the daily expectations within Lane Kiffin’s program.
“We’re big on extra cause just doing what’s required is not enough when it comes to work. That’s what this place is about.”
“You don’t come here to do nothing else but work,” he added.
The comments quickly drew attention because of Seaton’s connection to Deion Sanders and the Colorado program, where he had been one of the team’s most important pieces on the offensive line.
Seaton started 22 games across two seasons at Colorado before entering the transfer portal in January and committing to LSU later that month. His move was widely reported as one of the biggest transfer portal additions for Lane Kiffin’s first LSU roster.
Jordan Seaton Remarks Lead to Coach Criticism
After Seaton’s remarks circulated online, former coach Jason Brown publicly criticized how the situation was handled, directing his comments at Lane Kiffin.
“Lane Kiffin absolutely failed this kid and all coaches out there who let their kids talk about other programs are failing their kids cause it’s your coach kid now,” said Coach Jason Brown.
He continued by saying coaches should protect players from speaking negatively about previous programs.
“You coach this kid, we’re different. You don’t even need to tell anybody nothing it makes you bad now,” added Jason Brown.
“It makes me look bad for allowing you to say whatever the f* you want to say.”
Brown then directly referenced Deion Sanders in his criticism.
“You disrespected Deion Sanders. To me, that’s b* made by the head coach.”
He also addressed the broader transfer portal culture.“We don’t talk about bad relationships.”
“Can’t build a relationship with a kid if all you’re doing is paying them, and you’re trying to keep up with the Joneses and snatch them out of the portal faster than the next team can,” said the critic.
“There’s no real getting to know that kid if I’m just paying them to keep them out of the portal.”
The exchange has added another layer to the ongoing discussion around Jordan Seaton’s departure from Colorado and his fresh start at LSU.
For now, the facts remain clear: Seaton has officially moved on from Colorado, joined Lane Kiffin’s LSU program, and his comments about the transition have now become part of a larger national conversation surrounding Deion Sanders, transfer portal movement, and coaching responsibility.
