Shannon Sharpe Wants Kevin Stefanski To Be Investigated For Sabotaging Shedeur Sanders Against Titans

Shedeur Sanders is once again igniting a serious debate. This happens after the Browns’ Sunday loss to the Titans sparked a storm, starting with two decisions from Kevin Stefanski that left fans stunned.

Early in the game, Cleveland was down 14 when Kevin Stefanski called for a two-point conversion that failed and killed their momentum. But the real controversy came in the final moments.

With the game on the line and a chance to tie it, Stefanski pulled Shedeur Sanders off the field and ran a two-point play without him. The attempt collapsed instantly, the Browns lost, and Shannon Sharpe now says the move was so reckless it deserves investigation.

Shedeur Sanders Triggers Shannon Sharpe’s Fury Over Stefanski’s Decisions

Shannon Sharpe couldn’t understand why Shedeur Sanders was taken off the field at the most important moment of the game. Shannon opened with a line that instantly went viral: “Department of Justice, I need y’all to open up an investigation in what the hell is going on in Cleveland.” From there, he went straight into questioning Kevin Stefanski’s logic.

Sharpe couldn’t wrap his head around Stefanski’s decision-making, especially considering Shedeur’s elite performance. He pointed out how bizarre it was to remove a quarterback who was locked in, saying, “It makes no sense even if you want to run the Wildcat, considering that your quarterback is playing at a heat on fire. He’s hotter than four foxes in a forest fire… and you take him out. You take him out to have somebody else throw a pass?”

Shannon followed that up with more disbelief: “If you was gonna flip it to him what was he gonna do run it or he was gonna run and put up and throw up, throw up and pull up and throw a pass.”

Stefanski claimed he called the play himself, but Shannon didn’t buy it, firing back with, “I thought you changed the play calling over to Tommy Reece.”

Then he pressed even harder, demanding accountability for removing Shedeur in the clutch: “I know everything is on you and you don’t want to get into it. Get into it. What went into your thinking that when Shedeur Sanders had led you back from 14 down he had led you back.”

Shannon continued drilling the core question: “What went into the decision to take him off the field and potentially have someone else throw a two point conversion. What went into your decision coach?” And he didn’t forget Stefanski’s earlier mistake either, adding, “You’re only down 14… why the hell are you going for two on the first part?”

Sharpe emphasized that even though the Browns drafted Dillon Gabriel, none of that matters now because Shedeur Sanders is giving them a real chance to win. Yet Cleveland undercut that momentum. He made it clear he wasn’t calling it sabotage, but he was close. Finally, he delivered his most cutting question:

“After you see what your quarterback has done, why would you take him off the field and ask somebody that doesn’t play the position… are you really trusting somebody that hasn’t thrown a pass to throw a pass in that situation in that moment at that junction of the game?”

What Other Shedeur Sanders’ Supporters Said About Kevin Stefanski’s Decisions

The backlash toward Kevin Stefanski exploded further with Skip Bayless leading the charge. On X, he expressed his frustration: “Kevin Stefanski must be fired. Kevin Stefanski did not want Shedeur Sanders, don’t even want him in the fourth round.”

Then he doubled down with a claim that instantly shook Browns fans: “Kevin Stefanski has done everything in his power to keep Shedeur Sanders from succeeding in Cleveland as a fifth round pick against all odds.”

Skip pointed to the irony of Stefanski’s decisions by highlighting Shedeur’s performance:

“Shedeur Sanders just played by far his best game as a pro. He just threw for 364 yards and 3 touchdowns and led the Browns in rushing, he scored a rushing touchdown from 7 yards,” said Skip Bayless.

He argued that Stefanski stole the game from his own quarterback, saying, “Kevin Stefanski just cost the Browns… maybe an overtime… the way Shedeur was operating, they surely would have won the game somehow someway cuz that’s what Shedeur does.”

And in a moment that stunned viewers, Skip insisted the league had undervalued Sanders from day one: “The Tennessee Titans should have taken Shedeur Sanders number one overall.”

He praised Shedeur even more passionately, saying, “I love Shedeur Sanders, he’s the whole package. He’s playing for a sorry football team that played a sorry football game today, and Shedeur lifted them up out of the snow and nearly pulled it off by himself.”

Then came his final message: “I don’t know what you can ask off Shedeur Sanders against all odds.”

Skip even took a shot at another young quarterback, saying, “Camp Ward just threw for 117 yards on 14/28… he’s not bad… he’s pretty good. But he ain’t Shedeur Sanders.”

Others echoed his outrage. Jake Schwanitz demanded answers, posting, “Investigate the NFL and the NFL owners for the character assassination and black balling of Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft.”

Even Jameis Winston weighed in, calling Stefanski’s decision unacceptable. He posted, “Watched and played a lot of football and that’s just not right. No way.”

Across the league, the message was clear that Shedeur Sanders deserved better.

What Kevin Stefanski Said About Pulling Shedeur Sanders

Kevin Stefanski tried to shoulder the blame after the loss, insisting he was fully responsible for every decision made in the Browns’ offense.

When reporters pressed him on whether he personally made the call to take Shedeur Sanders off the field, he didn’t hesitate: “Yeah I make every call.” A reporter pushed back, pointing out that Shedeur had the hot hand, and Stefanski stood by his explanation.

He said, “It’s a two point play. Didn’t come through on our first two point play. Got to the second two point play. We didn’t come through, but that’s on me.”

There’s no fixing what happened, but there’s no hiding it either, not when Shedeur Sanders played well enough to win.
