Coach Prime’s son, Shilo Sanders, recently gave fans a glimpse into what it was really like growing up under Coach Prime’s roof in his latest vlog.
According to Shilo, there was one day when he knew trouble was waiting at home. “I ran from a whooping one time, bro,” he laughed, recalling the moment. “I was scheduled to whooping when I got home.”
For anyone who grew up in a strict household, that line probably sounds all too familiar. But what exactly did Deion Sanders’ son do to make his dad furious enough to plan a punishment in advance?
Shilo Remembers Running From His Dad’s Discipline
Shilo explained that he had done “something at school” that sparked his dad’s fury. As he told it, “And then he seen me and it was time to get a whooping.”
Knowing exactly what was waiting for him at home, Shilo did what any kid might attempt: he ran. “I ran and I was running and he was chasing me,” he recounted how the ordeal turned into a sprint across their property.
The problem? He wasn’t just running from anyone. He was rushing from Prime Time himself. “We had all this land. So I was like, ‘All right, here we go.’ Then I looked back and he was running.” That’s when it hit him: if Deion Sanders could run down NFL receivers in his prime, chasing down his son on the family land was nothing.
Eventually, Shilo surrendered. “He was going to catch me. So, I just had to surrender.”
Looking back, Shilo jokes that he had forgotten who he was really up against, “Prime Time” himself.
After all, Deion Sanders’ kids grew up with more than just a legendary athlete as a dad. They grew up with a father who never let discipline slide.
