On the night before Shedeur Sanders’ highly anticipated QB1 preseason debut, they came together to share heartfelt, encouraging words aimed at lifting his spirits.
Their support clearly made an impact, as Shedeur stepped onto the field with confidence and delivered a performance that showed exactly why he’s deserving of a QB1 role.
It was a proud moment for those who watched him grow and succeed both on and off the field.
Colorado Staff’s Heartfelt Words Fuel Shedeur Sanders
University of Colorado staff rallied behind their former star, Shedeur Sanders, with an outpouring of encouragement. Tyler said: “Be you. Be legendary. Do what you do best.” Junior added: “This is what you’ve been doing. Just keep it normal.” Another staffer kept it simple: “Just complete passes. That’s all you got to do.” Another echoed, “Just do be Shedeur… Be a Sanders.”
Their messages carried the pride of people who had witnessed his growth firsthand. “We’ve seen it every day. We know who you are. So, just be you, bro,” one staff member said. Another pumped him up: “I know you’re going to kill in the league. Screw all the haters. I saw you during just dicing up in practice, and I know you’re just gonna dice them up in the league. Do your thing, man.”
“Man, just kill the noise,” someone advised. “You’re my favorite quarterback I’ve watched in the Buffs, and I can’t wait for you to ball out tonight…. Be legendary.” Others reminded him: “You’re number one right now, big dog. Go get you yours, bro.” and “Do what you always do, man. It ain’t nothing to it but to do it. I’ve been with you for too long. I already know what you’re going to do.”
One summed it up perfectly: “Just be you, man. At the end of the day, authenticity is what it’s about. You put in the work. You showed up every day, and that’s all you can ask.”
Ocho Breaks Down Shedeur Sanders’ Big Debut
Chad Johnson said he was eager to see how Shedeur Sanders would conduct himself in a situation that didn’t favor him.
He pointed out that Shedeur wasn’t given enough reps, and the card he was dealt seemed designed to test his leadership capability, something he confidently displayed on the gridiron. “He was calm, under pressure, went through his progressions, made some great throws, had some errant throws.” Ocho added: “He looked like he belonged, hooked different. He did.”
While Ocho praised Andrew Barry for doing a great job and getting what he wanted, he questioned why Shedeur was drafted so late.
Other QB-needy teams passed on him, which Ocho found baffling. “There’s no reason he should have dropped as far as he did.”
For Ocho, Shedeur’s poise and performance sent a clear message that he’s ready for the spotlight, and teams that overlooked him may come to regret it.
