Shedeur Sanders, besides putting in the work to prove himself against top NFL quarterbacks, is also prioritizing his personal health and building strong relationships with fellow players.
While the competition is intense, Shedeur understands that thriving in the NFL takes more than just talent, it requires a full commitment on and off the field.
From training hard to taking care of his body and staying mentally sharp, to connecting with teammates and building trust in the locker room, he’s making all the right moves.
These efforts aren’t just about fitting in, they’re about maximizing his performance and making his time in the league truly worthwhile. Shedeur is clearly adapting to the NFL with purpose, maturity, and a long-term vision for success.
Shedeur On His New Diet
When it comes to his diet, Shedeur Sanders is all about consistency. “The food is real good. I’m on like some type of diet, you know,” he shared, highlighting his approach to nutrition.
Rather than following a strict meal plan, he focuses on maintaining steady eating habits. “Not really a diet but consistently eating really the same thing,” he explained.
This routine plays into his overall mindset of staying disciplined and focused. “That’s what I like, consistency throughout everything, so I pretty much eat the same thing every day, like breakfast, not breakfast, but just lunch and dinner.”
It’s clear that for Shedeur, consistency off the field supports performance on it.
The young QB is taking his health seriously, even down to what he drinks. “I just put down a cup of juice,” he admitted, marking a shift in his daily habits.
Committed to staying in peak condition, he made the decision to cut out sugary beverages entirely. “I’m no longer drinking major juice, bro,” he said in his recent podcast episode, showing how focused he is on the small things that make a big difference.
His go-to now? “I’m a water and lemon guy now, like strictly. Like, I have a gallon I drink every day, so I had to sacrifice a lot of juice.”
It’s all part of his dedication to staying sharp, hydrated, and NFL-ready.
Preparing Himself For Training Camp
As training camp approaches, Shedeur is focusing on more than just physical prep, he’s getting his mind right, too.
When asked about his main focus, he shared, “Before training camp, I’ll say just overall, just staying mentally in a great place, just becoming a better leader naturally as I can.”
It’s clear he understands that leadership and mindset are just as important as performance.
Explaining his experience further, he added, “Everybody is pretty cool. I just have to perfect everything I need to perfect.”
With that mindset, he’s setting himself up to not just participate, but lead and excel.
Prioritising On Building Relationships
For Shedeur Sanders, adapting to the NFL isn’t just about throwing passes, it’s about building real connections with the people around him.
Reflecting on his experience bonding with teammates, he shared, “I was just saying like, let’s just take a picture, cuz like, through hard work, throughout those three days of connecting with the players, of course you build connections with them.”
He recognizes the grind that every player is going through, saying, “We all see how hard it is even to get in this situation.”
That shared struggle creates mutual respect. “I don’t take anybody that’s chasing the same dream that I am, lightly. I want to be able to have something to connect with.”
Shedeur’s thoughtful approach to relationships, mindset, and discipline proves he’s not just adapting, he’s evolving into a true leader.
