Travis Hunter’s cousin brother, Javian Hunter Freeman, is quietly building his own name as a force on both sides of the football field.
He acknowledges Travis Hunter’s outstanding talent, and more than that, he’s working smart to be exactly like the Jacksonville Jaguars’ two-way rookie. Although not much in the spotlight like Travis Hunter’s real younger brother, Trayvis, Javian is a budding player with a promising future.
Javian Hunter Emerging as Florida’s Defensive Phenom
Standing at 6’3″ and 235 pounds, Javian lives in Boca Raton, Florida, and plays for Spanish River High School. He’s part of the Class of 2028 and already turning heads as a dominant two-way athlete.
Javian plays defensive end and tight end, and his stats back up the hype: 7 solo tackles, 24 assists, 4 sacks, 1 pass deflection, 1 forced fumble recovery, and 20 return yards.
He also earned the Player of the Game award on November 1, 2024, for his standout performance.
Beyond football, Javian stays active year-round, competing in track and field (specifically shot put) and playing basketball for Spanish River. His raw athleticism and work ethic have earned him recognition across Florida.
He’s been named to the Rising Stars All-South Florida Freshman Defensive Team, the Jerry Williamson Rising Stars Defensive Team for the Class of 2028, and listed as one of the Top Defensive Ends in the state by FlaVarsity.
Just like Travis Hunter, the kid’s got size, versatility, and bloodlines, and he’s just getting started.
Javian Hunter Freeman’s Experience
Javian Hunter Freeman, a rising Class of 2028 athlete, has played exclusively for Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, Florida.
As a freshman in 2024 and now a sophomore in 2025, he’s been a consistent presence on both sides of the ball for the Sharks.
Competing in a tough district, Spanish River posted a solid 7-4 overall record and went 2-1 in district play, finishing second. Javian’s development has been steady, showing growth year over year.
Whether lining up as a defensive end or tight end, he’s made it clear he’s one of the top talents to watch in his class. With two varsity seasons under his belt, his stock is only climbing.
Two-Way Standout Earning D1 Attention
Just like his cousin, Travis Hunter, Javian Hunter Freeman’s two-way talent has already caught the eyes of Division I scouts. Despite being just a sophomore in the Class of 2028, Javian has earned three FBS D1 offers from Western Kentucky, South Florida, and Syracuse University. That’s rare air for a player his age.
His ability to dominate on defense while remaining a reliable offensive threat mirrors the versatility and athleticism that made Travis Hunter a national star.
Javian’s recruitment is heating up fast, and rightfully so. With D1 schools already lined up, he’s proving early that he’s built for the spotlight.
