Shilo Sanders’ Thanksgiving prayer moment is going viral, but the real comedy started earlier as he sat with Shedeur and their mom, Pilar Sanders, joking about how Shedeur was studying his plays on Thanksgiving instead of relaxing.
Shilo Sanders playfully rated his mom’s cooking, telling Pilar, “You know your food is so delicious.” He then added that since Shedeur Sanders is already graded on his performance in the NFL, it was only fair that she’d be graded today.
Shilo Sanders hyped Pilar up even more by promising to show everyone that she has “the best food in the nation… in the world.” But what really grabbed fans’ attention came next, Shilo Sanders’ Thanksgiving prayer that instantly stole the show.
What Shilo Sanders Said in a Prayer to Shedeur
During Thanksgiving dinner, Shilo Sanders led the family prayer while sitting with his brother Shedeur and their mother, Pilar Sanders. The moment quickly drew attention online after Shilo shifted from a standard blessing into a direct, humorous request connected to Shedeur’s NFL career.
“Lord, please allow Shedeur to do his best so he can pull some strings to get me on the Browns too. And please make number 21 available somehow,” said Shilo Sanders in a prayer that immediately gained traction across social media platforms.
Even before the prayer, he was already roasting the family dynamic. He joked that his mom clearly favored Shedeur, saying, “Mother takes more care of Shedeur because he starts at QB for the Cleveland Browns,” then added, “And Shilo does not play football in New York,” after noticing Shedeur already had his drink while he didn’t.
Pilar quickly shut that down, reminding him she did ask what he wanted to drink, he just didn’t give her any options.
But beneath all the jokes, the family closeness was obvious. At one point, Shilo grew unusually real and said, “I never had no real job until now. Now I have to find a real job.” It was one of those moments where the humor cracked just enough to show the pressure he feels about life after college football. Shedeur didn’t hesitate to reassure him, responding, “I got you gang. You’re good. Just be a good brother.”
