Colorado players just got paid, and the checks are massive. Thanks to NIL deals, endorsements, and bonuses, some of Deion Sanders’ guys are stacking serious cash.
But not everyone got a piece of the pie. That’s where strength coach Andreu Swasey comes in. He had a blunt message for the players who didn’t make a dime.
Swasey’s words hit hard, but they might be exactly what some of these players needed to hear.
Joseph Williams Flexes With Grillz, Lambo
WR Joseph Williams teased something big. “Tomorrow is that day… I actually plan on getting something new,” he said. Turns out, he wasn’t bluffing. He got custom grillz. In an Instagram reel, Joseph shows them off with a confident grin, clearly proud of his new bling.
Later, Joseph mentioned a conversation with fellow WR Quannell Farrakhan Jr. about buying a third car. “I wanted a Corvette,” he said, but admitted it sounded dumb. Quannell asked, “Would it be dumb to get a third car?” Apparently not.
Quannell didn’t settle for a Corvette; he bought a Lamborghini instead. Quannell shared a photo on Instagram of himself standing right next to the sleek new ride.
From grillz to supercars, the WR room has showed up loud and proud, and he’s just getting started.
Kaidon Salter Drops Real Money Advice
While some players are showing off grillz and luxury cars, QB Kaidon Salter is thinking long-term. Instead of flexing, he offered a dose of financial wisdom during a conversation caught on video.
“If you waiting on the paycheck month to month, you ain’t saving right. You feel me?” he said, making it clear that smart money management should be the priority.
He went on to say, “I know they (his teammates) make enough to save it.” It wasn’t a direct shot, but the message was loud. Some players have the money but aren’t managing it well. At the same time, other players didnt get to see the light of a payday.
Coach Swasey Speaks to Those Still Waiting to be Paid
Not every Colorado player walked away with a paycheck, and Coach Andreu Swasey made sure those players heard something real.
Speaking directly to the ones still grinding without financial rewards, he reminded them that timing is everything. “It may not be your season right now,” Swasey said. “But when your season come… you just got a scholarship, right? Different season, right? It’s totally different.”
Swasey urged them not to compare timelines. “So don’t be mad at somebody else’s timing. Just, hey, embrace them, support them, because when your time come, you going to be good.”
His message wasn’t just about money. It was about unity, patience, and self-belief. He closed with purpose: “We will dominate college football. Why? Because we got good people skills. We care about one another in the right way.”
In a locker room full of million-dollar potential, Swasey reminded them that character still counts. The money may come later, but the mindset comes first.
