Shedeur Sanders is entering a new phase of his life, and for the first time in years, it won’t include having his big brother Shilo right beside him. From their early days growing up together to sharing the field in college, the two have been nearly inseparable both on and off the field.
But now, with Shedeur and Shilo pursuing their own path in the NFL, that dynamic has shifted. While Shedeur has mostly kept things quiet, it’s become clear through recent revelations that he’s feeling the absence of his older brother more than people might expect.
Shilo has begun sharing glimpses into their bond, subtly confirming that Shedeur truly misses the connection they once had. The distance has only magnified what years of growing, training, and playing side-by-side meant to them.
As their journeys begin to split, the emotional weight of that separation is starting to surface in unexpected ways.
Shilo Talks About His Time Playing With Shedeur As Kids
Big brother Shilo shared some memories from their childhood playing together with Shedeur. He recalled, “When we was young like, me and Shedeur used to play around and stuff.“
However, their playtime didn’t always end smoothly. Shilo admitted that quite often, their fun would take a turn when Shedeur would end up crying. “We always ended with him crying, and he’ll go tell on me for some reason,” he explained, hinting at the occasional roughness or disagreements during their games.
Over the years, this pattern of Shedeur telling on him seemed to become a recurring theme in their sibling dynamic. Shilo humorously added, “Built up over the years, Shedeur definitely tells more than any of my siblings have told on me.“
This glimpse into their childhood reveals a typical sibling relationship full of playful moments, minor conflicts, and the kind of tattling only a younger brother could do, strengthening their bond over time. Now, being apart, those memories make them really miss each other and the close connection they built while growing up together.
Shilo Reveals that Shedeur Keeps Calling Him
In a recent press conference, Shilo opened up about how much Shedeur misses him now that they’re apart. “He’s been missing me,” Shilo said. “He’s been calling me in the morning. He’ll call me at like, 6 a.m. because we are on the same schedule right now, actually.”
Clearly, Shedeur craves that brotherly connection. Shilo explained, “He need some brotherly love. You know, he misses me and stuff, his big brother’s not next to him no more in practice, and, you know, we talk a lot.”
Their bond is so strong that even during Shilo’s study sessions, Shedeur couldn’t help but call. “Like he would call me in the morning, and he actually called me, I stayed later to meet with Coach Rashad. And he had called me during the meeting, and I’m like, ‘Yo, bro, you messing up my study session. Bro, you need to be studying right now.’” Despite the interruptions, Shilo admits, “But nah, we talk actually. I think he really does miss me.”
This connection was humorously highlighted recently when Shilo jokingly asked a United Airlines employee during a Call of Duty stream for a free flight to Cleveland. “Bro, give me a free flight,” he said, “I need some credits to (fly to) Cleveland so I could go visit Shedeur.”
Beneath the playful request was a genuine desire to reconnect. No matter the distance, their brotherly love remains unbreakable.
