There was a stretch this offseason when Deion Sanders went completely quiet, and for good reason. Coach Prime was dealing with serious health issues, battling cancer, and focusing on recovery. But while he stepped back to take care of himself, the internet did what it always does: ran wild with speculation.
Some even started pushing the narrative that Deion was quietly preparing to leave Colorado, using his illness as a cover for his exit from Boulder.
That didn’t sit right with Bucky, who didn’t hold back when addressing the haters. He straight-up called them out, saying, “Ho* a*s people” for even suggesting that Coach Prime would abandon his players and the program while going through something so personal and painful.
Bucky made it clear, Deion wasn’t going anywhere, and the disrespect during a health crisis was completely out of line. Sometimes, silence isn’t strategy, it’s survival. And Bucky wasn’t letting that get twisted.
Bucky Blasts Deion Sanders Exit Rumors Hard
Deion Jr. didn’t sugarcoat a thing. In response to the noise, he called it what it was: pure ignorance. “People saying he’s going to quit, he’s going to do this… mad ’cause his sons are gone,” Bucky said, clearly frustrated.
But what really got to him was how none of those people walked their comments back once the truth came out. “None of them people even apologized. None of them changed how… they still standing on that ho* [stuff],” he said.
As if that wasn’t enough, Bucky went ahead to strongly castigate the remarks. “If you a ho*, then stand on it. Stand on being a ho*. I respect that,” he added, sarcastically tipping his hat to the folks doubling down on false narratives.
Despite the heat, Bucky kept it grounded, choosing to focus on the positives, mainly, that Deion is still here, still coaching, and still proving doubters wrong. “You still got ho* a*s people,” he admitted, “but it’s a beautiful thing though. We going to look at the good side of it.”
No PR spin. No filter. Just Bucky defending his guy and calling out the nonsense for exactly what it is.
