Deion Sanders Jr. Reminisces How He Grew His ‘Well Off’ Empire That Helped Him Transition His Career Into Media

Deion Sanders Jr. is now a full-blown media mogul, running his hit YouTube channel and a growing empire under his brand, Well Off Forever. But it didn’t happen overnight.

In his recent sit-down with Phillip Dukes on Dukesthescoop, he opened up about how it all started. Just him, a camera, and a drive to carve his own lane outside his father’s shadow.

What began as casual vlogging turned into a business blueprint, leading to brand deals, merchandise, and a legit media career. Now, he’s showing others how it’s done.

Started in High School

Deion Sanders Jr. first dipped into entrepreneurship back in high school, selling Well Off clothing to fans and friends. That early hustle laid the foundation for what would eventually become a full-blown brand. In 2018, he launched the Well Off YouTube page, not just to share content, but to grow a media platform around the lifestyle he’d already started building.

“You know, we created the page in like 2018 ’cuz we just had Well Off clothing. Of course we’ve been doing that since like high school,” he explained.

But the vision didn’t stop at shirts and hoodies. He and his team literally sketched out their plan, drawing a big circle labeled “Well Off” in the middle, then branching off with sub-companies like Well Off Gaming, Well Off Media, and Well Off Clothing.

The goal? Create a network of revenue streams that could bring in solid monthly income. “If we could try to at least make 3,000 a month with the clothing… like cool, that’ll be almost 10,000 a month,” he said. “We didn’t get nowhere close to it, but that was the plan.”

From Family Favor to Viral Content Machine

Deion Jr.’s turning point came when his dad asked him to follow him to Jackson State University, film his coaching journey, and manage his Instagram. What started as a favor quickly turned into a booming media opportunity.

“We ain’t really do nothing with it… with the Well Off Media… until my dad just asked me to go to Jackson and record him,” Deion Jr. said. “Everything I would post on his Instagram, I would just post it on YouTube also.”

It wasn’t a strategic move at first. But the clips kept going viral, landing on ESPN and other major platforms. That’s when he realized: “It’s got to be a way you can make money… grow something out of this.”

Seeing others post his videos and rack up views pushed him to take charge. “I’m like bro, that’s my video.” So he built his own YouTube channel, Well Off Media, which soon became monetized and even led to opportunities with NFL coverage.

Expanding Into the NFL and Beyond

As Well Off Media kept growing, new doors opened, including access to NFL coverage. “We got credentials to a few teams,” Deion Jr. said, “but a lot of the plans were really halted… camp’s about to start, so I just got a few teams’ credentials.”

It was a clear sign his work was being recognized on a bigger stage. “It’s been a blessing receiving those credentials,” he added. Still, his heart and camera remain rooted in Colorado. “I’ll probably just be in Colorado most of the time… just being real with you.”

From selling clothes in high school to filming viral content, Deion Jr. turned hustle into a full-on media empire, on his own terms.
