That one comment was enough to set social media on fire. On X, one shocked fan wrote, “How am I just hearing today that Jayden Daniels & JuJu Watkins are cousins? & people are on the internet like ‘I mean how did y’all not know this?’ lol That’s like someone randomly telling me today that Caitlyn Clark & Luka Doncic are cousins.”
Another user added, “Bruh I had no idea either but when you look at JuJu she does kinda look like JD’s mother lol.”

Instagram Clues Seem to Shut Down Cousin Rumors
A Reddit post may have claimed Jayden Daniels and JuJu Watkins are cousins, but Regina Jackson’s Instagram tells a different story.
In one of her Instagram posts on National Sibling Day, the caption read, “Me and my siblings!! I’m the baby.. spoiled.” Showing that she has two older sisters and one older brother, but JuJu’s mother isn’t one of them. Sari Watkins isn’t in that photo, and there’s no sign of her in any of Regina’s other family-related posts either.
Though Regina follows Sari on Instagram, that’s the only visible connection. No birthday shoutouts, no comments, no tags; nothing that suggests a sisterly bond.
On top of that, Jayden’s father is Javon Daniels, while JuJu’s father is Robert Neal-Watkins, further disproving the idea that the two athletes are first cousins.
Still, they appear to be close friends. At JuJu Watkins’ recent birthday bash, Jayden Daniels and his mom were in attendance. And in a video that made rounds online, Jayden was seen walking out with JuJu at the party, surrounded by friends and family.
They were seen having fun and enjoying themselves at the party as Jayden was seen singing along with JuJu. Furthermore, there hasn’t been any confirmation from the two athletes that they were, in fact, cousins when the rumors were going wild.
